Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix
The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is a quite unique racing event. It's not only America's largest vintage race, but the only one run on city streets - the way sports car racing began.
The Grand Prox contacted Barry about creating a piece for the 2005 event, and asked him if he could create a painting similar to the cover of his book Atmosphere and Light: The Automotive Paintings of Barry Rowe. Given the tight time contraints and limited budget of the Grand Prix's non-profit organisation, Barry simply replied, "Since your event benefits charity you're welcome to use that image if you wish". The 2005 poster and programme cover was born.
